Preview - Scotland v Barbarians

Logan signs off in style

Scotland's most-capped winger Kenny Logan admitted it will be one of the biggest thrills of an illustrious career when he goes into action against his home nation for the Barbarians on Tuesday in Aberbeen.

The end-of-season challenge match at Pittodrie will be Logan's final high-profile appearance north of the border before his retirement from rugby.

"It will be the perfect way to end my days in the sport - I couldn't have written a better script for myself," he said.

"I am sure it will be an extremely emotional night, but also a very fulfilling one.

"Playing for the Barbarians is a huge honour at any stage of your career - but to play for them in your last ever game against the your own country is an awesome prospect."

Logan, whose TV presenter wife Gabby is expecting twins in July, added: "It will also be a massive sporting milestone for the north east of Scotland.

"The people of Aberdeen feel they have been starved of top-quality events, well this is their opportunity to see something really special."

Logan will line up alongside a plethora of major names from both hemispheres in a Baa-Baas squad coached by Bob Dwyer, who guided Australia to World Cup glory.

Logan went on: "Bob is one of the greatest and most inspirational coaches of all time and it will be a thrill to be part of his set-up."

Barbarians president Micky Steele-Bodger declared: "We have put together a very interesting squad for this year's British tour.

"There is a lovely mix of home grown talent and overseas players who should provide tremendous entertainment for the spectators.

"Visiting Aberdeen for the match against Scotland is a new departure but we are confident that it will be a popular one.

"Great touring sides such as the All Blacks, Springboks and Wallabies have played in Aberdeen in the days of the long tours and we are delighted to be part of a new era of top-class representative rugby in the north of Scotland."
