Wallabies dominate Baa-baas XV

Wallaby trial or exhibition match?

Barbarians coach Bob Dwyer has unveiled the Baa-baas side that will take on the All Blacks at Twickenham on Saturday, naming a team made up of Australians and South African stars, sprinkled with a couple of Fijians and Kiwis  - and a single European player on the bench.

The selection shows some interesting backline switches for Wallaby winger Lote Tuqiri who moves to centre and Chris Latham moving out to the wing, but it will undoubtedly raise the hackles of British fans who do not have a single player in the 22-man squad.

And a more cynical eye may ask if the backline has been picked for Wallaby coach Eddie Jones to experiment with Matt Giteau at fly-half and Tuqiri in the midfield - a move that has been brought up on more than one occasion.

The Wallabies make up the bulk of the backline with only All Blacks scrum-half Justin Marshall captaining the team against his ABs team-mates, and Fijian flyer Sireli Bobo picked on the wing.

The forwards, meanwhile, have been split equally between the three Tri-Nations countries with IRB Player of the Year, Springbok flanker Schalk Burger, Wallaby Phil Waugh and ABs No.8 Xavier Rush making up the loose trio.

On the bench it is much the same, with the South Africans and Wallabies occupying most of the seats, with Aisea Tuilevo from Fiji and Andrea Lo Cicero - the lone northern hemisphere representative - the outsiders.

Barbarians: 15 Mat Rogers (Australia), 14 Chris Latham (Australia), 13 Lote Tuqiri (Australia), 12 Morgan Turinui (Australia), 11 Sireli Bobo (Fiji), 10 Matt Giteau (Australia), 9 Justin Marshall (captain, New Zealand), 8 Xavier Rush (New Zealand), 7 Phil Waugh (vice-captain, Australia), 6 Schalk Burger (South Africa), 5 Albert Van Den Bergh (South Africa), 4 Daniel Vickerman (Australia), 3 Faan Rautenbach (South Africa), 2 Brendan Cannon (Australia), 1 Bill Young  (Australia).
Replacements: 16 Gary Botha (South Africa), 17Andrea Lo Cicero (Italy), 18 AJ Venter (South Africa), 19 Radike Samo (Australia), 20 Werner Greef (South Africa), 21 Gcobani Bobo (South Africa), 22 Aisea Tuilevo (Fiji).

Kick-off: 15.00 GMT
