England Students squad for 2005
Friday December 03 2004
Five matches scheduled
After the final round of trials at Warwick University, England Academy coach, Gary Street announced his squad of 26 players for the England Students squad for the 2004-05 international season. The team will play five matches. Over 200 students from around England took part in the trials to reach the squad. The first match will be against the British Army at Aldershot on Friday 4 February. Matches are also scheduled against Scotland Under-23, Wales Development, Wales Students and South Africa. Street joined with the Students' coaches, Mark Tomlinson and Matt Johnson, in selecting the squad. He said: We have been very pleased with the standard of play throughout the trial process. With the new performance structure now in place, the Students squad will integrate well with the England Academy and England Under-19. These teams enable us to identify and develop the younger generation of players that will go on to represent the England Senior side in the future.
