Wilkinson faces more waiting
Thursday December 02 2004
No sign yet of England star
Jonny Wilkinson's comeback from injury is on hold for at least another week. The England fly-half will not feature for Newcastle in their Heineken Cup game against Edinburgh at Kingston Park on Sunday, either in the starting line-up or as a replacement. Wilkinson has been sidelined by a bicep injury since mid-October, missing Falcons' opening two Heineken Cup fixtures and several Zurich Premiership games. He also sat out England's three autumn internationals - against Canada, South Africa and Australia - after being appointed captain by new head coach Andy Robinson. Wilkinson's latest injury came after he spent eight months sidelined recovering from a career-threatening neck and shoulder problem earlier this year.
