Wilkinson back from injury

Jonny Wilkinson is likely to feature in Newcastle's Heineken Cup match against Edinburgh on Saturday.

Wilkinson has not played since October, when a trademark tackle from the England maestro caused damage to his bicep.

He took part in a full-contact training session on Wednesday with the Newcastle Falcons, and has so far not suffered any after-effects.

"He came through training, and if there's no reaction there's every chance he could feature," said Newcastle director of rugby Rob Andrew.

Wilkinson has not played for England since he landed the World Cup-winning drop goal in the 2003 RWC Final.

He spent the first half of this year recovering from the surgery required to repair a shoulder and neck injury sustained in the RWC effort, and made a brief comeback in the Zurich Premiership at the start of this season before this injury.
