Lions borrow a Blue Bull

Monday 18th August 2008

The Blue Bulls have decided to loan their wing Trompie Nontshinga for the remainder of the Currie Cup to the Lions.

Due to the current form of players like Akona Ndungane, John Mametsa and Rocco Jansen it was felt that it would be in the best interests of the player to make the move and get some competitive rugby under his belt.

Nonsthinga represented the SA U21 side in 2004 and made his provincial debut for the Cheetahs in 2005. In 2006 he moved to Pretoria and has since played in 23 matches for the Blue Bulls.

Coach Frans Ludeke confirmed on Monday morning that there aren't any serious injuries in the Blue Bulls' camp after the match against the Griquas and all the players will be eligible for the big North/South derby against Western Province a week on Friday.
