Andy Robinson sticks to his guns

England looking for payback
England coach Andy Robinson has named an unchanged line-up for the team's Test against Australia at Twickenham on Saturday. The world champions put their poor form earlier in the year - highlighted by heavy losses to New Zealand (twice) and the Wallabies in June - firmly behind them with a comprehensive 32-16 drubbing of Tri-Nations champions South Africa over the weekend. It is therefore no surprise that Robinson has opted to stick to his guns for the Wallabies match this weekend with Charlie Hodgson set to run the show from fly-half. Hodgson came in for some heavy criticism after failing with the boot during England's 70-0 hammering of Canada two weeks ago, but the Sale star shrugged it off and weighed in with a man-of-the-match performance against the Springboks. Jason Robinson will again lead England, and is one of only four starting survivors from the XV which took on Australia in last year's Rugby World Cup final. Centre Mike Tindall, hooker Steve Thompson and winger Josh Lewsey are the others. But Andy Robinson was at pains to draw a line under the RWC victory, preferring to draw 'inspiration' from Australia's 51-15 victory over England in Brisbane in June - a result he described as "humiliating". "Whenever you play Australia there is a real edge about it. They stick together as a team and we will have to concentrate and make exactly the right calls for 80 minutes plus," he said. "Whatever team they put out will be enthusiastic and will test us in every area. No matter how well we have played against Australia in the past every game has gone to the wire. "They have an outstanding back division and we've got to take them on. Last week we had to match South Africa physically, this is a different test. That's why these autumn tests are so good as you have to react and change your game. "It's right that we celebrated the win over South Africa on Saturday but we face a completely different challenge this week." Despite the unchanged side, Robinson revealed that he and his coaching team had thought long and hard about possible changes. "A number of questions were asked in all areas," he said. "It was easy to pick the same team after last week but it was important to pick a team to beat Australia. "But every one of these players deserves to keep his place and I want to see this combination up against Australia."
