Exiles boss to face the music

Smith charged with abusing officials

London Irish boss Brian Smith will stand before a RFU disciplinary hearing on Tuesday after being cited for verbally abusing match officials.

Smith has been charged under regulation 5.12 of the RFU's code of conduct - behaviour prejudicial to the interests of the union and the game - with abusing referee Nick Williams and touch judge James Minards.

The incidents occurred during and after the Guinness Premiership 'A' League match between the Exiles' second-string side and their counterparts from Gloucester on March 27 - a game which the Exiles actually won.
