Naming of New Zealand squads on ice
In bizarre a twist, the naming of New Zealand's five Super 12 squads for the 2005 competition have been delayed, because they can't get hold of "several" players. The announcement of the squads for the Highlanders, Crusaders, Hurricanes, Chiefs and Blues was scheduled for Friday at 10.00 (NZ time) on Friday, but is on hold because the franchises have been unable to contact several players regarding selection. The timing of the squads announcement will be finalised when all the players have confirmed their availability. No reasons were given why they were unable to track the players down.
