New CAR season kicks off

Abidjan and Yaunde are first venues

The Confederation of African Rugby's Top 9 has barely finished when the new competition kicks-off in Abidjan and Yaunde. It is a Top 10 competition this year with the elevation of Cameroon and Zambia and the demotion of Botswana.

The teams are divided into two pools - one in the North and two in the South.

The pools are as follows:

Pool A (North): Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoir, Morocco, Tunisia

Pool B (South 1): Madagascar, Uganda, Zimbabwe

Pool C (South 2): Kenya, Namibia, Zambia.

The fixtures for the season are as follows:

Côte d'Ivoire v Tunisia in Abidjan

Cameroon v Morocco in Yaunde

Tunisia v Cameroon in Tunis

Morocco v Côte d'Ivoire in Casablanca

A semi-final will be played between the winner of Pool B and the winner of Pool C on September 25 to determine the champion of the South.

The Final, between the Winner of Pool A and the champion of the South will be played on October 9, 2004.
