France AnthemWritten in 1792, La Marseillaise was a product of the French Revolution and was officially adopted by the new French republic three years later. Originally titled "Chant de guerre de l'armeé du Rhin", it adopted its current name after being sung by revolutionary troops from Marseilles as they marched in to Paris.
