Bok fans have faith in White

'We trust you Jake' say readers

Springbok coach Jake White sprung yet another surprise when he named Natal Sharks flanker Solly Tyibilika in the 30-man Bok training squad ahead of the November tour. But it seems the fans have a renewed faith in the Bok coach - after White led the team to Tri-Nations victory - and are prepared to trust his selections.

WE TRUST YOU JAKE:

"An awesome group of players. People have their favourites of who should be in etc, but Jake White has closed the mouths of many South African critics with how the Boks have performed. I am glad Jaque Fourie, Juan Smith, Sephaka, Danie Rossouw are back in, they have all proved themselves and are definitely the real deal.

"The only player I don't have faith in so much anymore is Werner Greeff. He was very good, but has battle so much with injuries and his game etc. So the only person missing from this group is the one and only Butch James who will one day be a BOK hero!"
- Lee Williams, UK

"I am really glad for Solly, and at the same time sad for Luke Watson. But this man really proved himself in a short amount of time! My only problem is Lawrence Sephaka. I really think we do have someone better than him, but hey, Jake proved me wrong with Bolla and OS. I like what he did for our team and no matter what I will always stay behind his decisions!!"
- Heinrich, UK

"Yes to everyone from the Tri-Nations Squad, except for Conradie. If Du Preez is injured ten minutes into either Ireland or Wales, those half-backs will make Conradie look slower than the local U-13 no.9! Lets hope AJ can mind his manners at the bottom of a wet Scottish ruck and that Andrews doesn't buckle under pressure from the Welsh and new-look English front row!

"To the returning Boks, only Fourie and Greeff deserve to be there! There are much better locks than Davids, and even a few better than Rossouw, or is Geo Cronje still so unpopular? No need for Smith or Sephaka, but we did need another top class hooker, who can play more than the last 14 seconds of a match if required (and we all know an ideal candidate).

"To the three new caps, well done! Now that's what I call 'developement players', all there based on real promise and none lacking in effort. Isn't it great having a coach and chair of selectors there who can think big picture, imagine being able to select from the finished products of Burger, van Niekerk, Tyibilika, and Watson as your pairs of open and blinsiders at the next RWC."
- Pat Jolly, Hampshire, UK

"Jake White seems to have a 'midas touch' with regards to selection, so it would be a fool who would question selection at this stage. Solly Tyibilika's selection is definitely on merit which bodes well, as well as it is shows JW is keeping an eye on all areas of SA rugby to spot Solly.

"I like the way Jake is keeping a large core of players together and creating stability but still including at most two to three players who are showing potential and 'stepping up' in the domestic competition.

"From these suprise selections it is obvious that he intends the Boks to play expansive running rugby. The forwards pretty much pick themselves and it seems to me that he is picking the type of player that fits a hard running/hitting backline.  Can't wait for November to see these guys take the next step up.  Should be spectacular!"
- Rhian Holdsworth, South Africa

"Great news to see Jake picking exciting players like Solly. Hopefully this is only the beginning with plenty more players like him coming through the ranks! I expect Solly could well get a run off the bench against Scotland or Wales."
- James, South Africa

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING JAKE?:

"Jake White is obviously a great coach, but is he a good selector? At the beginning of the international year, were you not a bit shocked at not seeing Craig Davidson, Gary Botha, Etiene Botha, Werner Greef, Luke Watson and a few others not in the team? And were you surprised to see Conradie, Shimange, Van Der Linde and Van Den Berg in the side?

"Sure, Jake hit the nail on the head, his team did great, but again he has made what seem to be hard to understand selections. Solly Tybilika, sure a great player but I don't think he's quite as good as Pedrie Wannenberg, Luke Watson, Hendrick Gerber ... they all missed out on selection. Anyway, he's a good coach and I just hope he can get the best out of his players ... again!! GO JAKE!!!"
- Richard, Australia
