Patrick Lambie with Currie Cup

In the squad: Patrick Lambie

Peter de Villiers has announced his 30-man squad ahead of South Africa's end-of-year tour, a group that includes Patrick Lambie and Lwazi Mvovo.

Twenty-year-old Lambie is joined by fellow fly-half Elton Jantjies as being two of six uncapped players named for the Grand Slam tour of Britain and Ireland next month.

The Springbok selectors also named forwards Willem Alberts, Keegan Daniel and Coenie Oosthuizen in their 30 for their five-match trip.

Victor Matfield, the regular vice-captain of the team, will lead in the absence of John Smit, who is out injured, with Juan Smith his deputy.

Other senior players named include Schalk Burger, Bryan Habana, CJ van der Linde, Bakkies Botha and Bismarck du Plessis, while overseas-based duo Ruan Pineaar of Ulster and Racing Metro's Frans Steyn will also travel despite their omission from the preliminary 39-man party named two weeks ago.

Schedule: November 6 v Ireland (Dublin), November 13 v Wales (Cardiff), November 20 v Scotland (Edinburgh), November 27 v England (Twickenham), December 4 v Barbarians (Twickenham)

I hope the man with the moustache is willing to have a game-plan that has less Garryowen's and more running rugby as the squad he has picked, suits the latter. If the game-plan is appropriate, it is one of the better squads that we have sent over for a while.

7 of the 8 Sharks forwards from today are going to UK. That's pretty amazing. Sykes the only one missing. Feel a bit sorry for him since he's played pretty well recently.
