According to reports, South Africa utility back Francois Steyn and the Springbok management appear to have buried the hatchet.
There had been doubts over Steyn's Bok future after he accused national coach Peter de Villiers of showing a "lack of respect" to him and his French club Racing Metro during the recent Tri-Nations.
However, Sport24 reports that South African Rugby Union (SARU) national team manager Andy Marinos travelled to France to hold clear the air talks with Steyn and his club.
"It was a visit that had been rescheduled from September to meet the clubs and the players to make sure that the channels of communication are properly open and they are clear of our intentions," said Marinos.
"Obviously no-one is guaranteed selection, but the positive to come out of it was that the players are committed to playing for the Springboks and that we have an understanding with the clubs on the operation of the release periods."
Steyn and the other overseas-based players were not included in the 39-man team for the training camp, but they could still be included in the final squad for the tour of Europe.
The report adds that Steyn, Ulster duo Ruan Pienaar and BJ Botha, and Bath fly-half Butch James are in "South Africa's plans".
