Bismarck du Plessis into tackle bag

Back in: Du Plessis and Mtawarira

The South African Rugby Union have confirmed that all the contracted Boks will promptly undertake a conditioning programme for the next four weeks.

The schedule will see the players withdrawn from their Currie Cup squads until 6 October after what has been a disappointing Tri-Nations year.

All non-contracted Springboks are available immediately for their provinces. The arrangement has been made in consultation and with agreement with the players' contracting provinces. The following contracted Springboks will undertake the conditioning programme:

Blue Bulls - Victor Matfield , Danie Rossouw, Bakkies Botha, Wynand Olivier, Morne Steyn, Fourie du Preez and Pierre Spies
The Sharks - John Smit, Bismarck du Plessis, Tendai Mtawarira, JP Pietersen and Adi Jacobs
Western Province - Schalk Burger, Jaque Fourie, Bryan Habana, Ricky Januarie and Andries Bekker
Free State Cheetahs - Juan Smith, Heinrich Brüssow and CJ van der Linde

All players have been given a programme by the Bok conditioning and medical team and will follow this under the supervision of the Provincial conditioning teams and in consultation with Springbok management. The contracted players will report to Cape Town on 4 October for testing.

The contracted group will be available for the final round robin stage of Currie Cup matches as well as the play-offs.

Until & unless the bashem smashems realise one should endeavour to BEAT an opponent [as opposed to KKKRRAASSHINNNG THROUGH THEM or going for the intercept, Bryan] & hoisting bombs, they will never play attractive RRRRugbieee

But the "knowledgeable" (yeah, right) sporting yarpie supporters actually LIKE the 'BEEEGG HUTS, MAAAN' - which says as much about the supporters [who probably never played] as it does about the current SA players

sigh

It's rather obvious....the GPS system is indicating that their work rate is below par for the intensity the Boks wish to play at! Pitty it doesn't coach Habana to trust his inside man.

Cmarshment.

Apparently the senior players in that group will be rested for the end of year tour, eg. Smit matfield habana. But Peter de villiers is an idiot so he'll probably make them all play in every game

mid season conditioning programme. Now that is odd.

Why not pull them out of the end of year tour or the beginning of Super 15.

They probably just need a rest right now. What would they be conditioning for mid season? Speed and fitness? Wouldn't that be best attained via game time.
