Alastair Kellock: Back in November?

Alastair Kellock is targeting a return to the Scotland side for the November Tests.

The Glasgow Warriors lock, who led the Scots to their historic Test series success in Argentina in June, will miss the start of the new campaign having had off-season surgery on a knee injury.

But Kellock is determined to be fit in time to press his case for selection for Scotland's opening game of the autumn Tests - against New Zealand at Murrayfield on Saturday, November 13.

"I'll be working as hard as possible, as soon as my knee allows, to be back in time," he told the Glasgow Warriors website.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said: "Al had a follow-up procedure last week on his knee injury and he will be working on his recovery with the Glasgow Warriors medical team.

"The hope is that he will be available for consideration for the autumn Tests."

He is one among many I hope to see back in time for the Autumn series. I'd also like to see Chris Cusiter back along with Jason White and god willing Simon Taylor. Also need all of the Killer B's back and wouldn't mind seeing Ally Hogg back in contention either. Scotland had some serious momentum going there and I hope that injury doesn't throw it off track. It's not that I think Kellock is irreplaceable as a lock in the line-up but he clearly is an inspiration leader on the pitch and that is irreplaceable.
