'The Wizard' returns to Fiji SevensFiji make use of 'world's greatest Sevens exponent'Sevens specialists Fiji, in an effort to begin climbing the world ranks, have welcomed legendary Fiji star Waisale Serevi into their squad for the final two legs of the 2003/04 International Rugby Board's (IRB) World Sevens Series in Bordeaux and London.
Coach Pauliasi Tabulutu and team manager Malakai Finau had previously expressed their desire to recall Serevi to the squad and they were delighted to confirm on Thursday that they had named him as captain. It is a delight that will undoubtedly be shared by thousands of fans around the globe who will again have the pleasure of watching the dynamic skills of Serevi on the world stage. "We've said from day one that it's going to be a big ask to get Fiji back to the top of World Sevens, however, we feel to have any chance of doing that we've got to make use of the world's greatest Sevens exponent," said Finau. Serevi's most recent Sevens experience was playing for his local club side, Nasinu, in the BP Oil Series during March, where he showed that he had lost none of his old magic. Saimoni Rokini, who captained the side during the Hong Kong and Singapore legs of the '03/04 series, has been named as vice-captain. Fjii Sevens squad: Waisale Serevi (captain), Saimoni Rokini (vice-captain), Raymond Rodan, Niko Aisake, Tuidriva Bainivalu, Jone Daunivucu, Epeli Dranivasa, Asaeli Boko, Maikeli Leweni, Vonivate Vateitei, Mosese Luveitasau and Daniele Tabuakuru.
