Copa Intercontinental final
The new Copa Intercontinental will be decided at Estadio Luis Franzini in Montevideo on Saturday when Uruguay play Portugal in the final. Over the plains and the high Andes Georgia will play Chile in a 3rd/4th play-off at the Prince of Wales Country Club. This is the inaugural playing of the Copa Intercontinental. Next year the venues will move to Europe. In the first round of the Copa last weekend. Uruguay beat the young Georgian side 17-7 while Portugal beat the young Chilean side 28-9. Chile have chosen two new players for the match with Georgia who are likely to use their pack to counter the fast Chilean backs. Paul Marsalli and Sebastián García come back from injury.
