Leicester finished the Premiership regular season on a high with a five-try 32-20 victory over London Irish at Welford Road on Saturday.
Toby Flood and Ian Humphreys traded penalties in the first ten minutes of the match, before the contest sprung to life with two rapid-fire tries from the hosts.
Tom Croft scored in the corner following good hands from Geoff Parling, before fellow British Lion Ben Youngs sped through a gap and beat the cover defence to score the Tigers' second.
Flood was wide with both conversions, however, and the cushion remained at ten until half-time, with the Tigers appearing content to consolidate and hold their opponents at bay.
But a converted Mathew Tait try early in the second half following great work from Geordan Murphy and Manu Tuilagi left Irish with a mountain to climb.
Alex Corbisiero gave the visitors hope less than ten minutes later with the Exiles first try, converted by Humphreys, but two further tries from the hosts just after the hour put the game to bed.
Fit-again Niki Goneva crossed on 60 after the ball was worked left, for Flood to convert, before an unconverted solo effort from Flood seven minutes later made it 32-10.
To their credit, the visitors rallied in the final stages of the game and added two more tries to add a respectable tint to the final scoreline.
Topsy Ojo's fine finish on 71 minutes raised spirits, before Marland Yarde rounded off the scoring with less than five minutes remaining, though both of the final two conversions were missed.
