Glasgow have moved to bring in a scrum-half on a short-term contract, with youngster Will Cliff heading across the border to Firhill from Sale Sharks.

Cliff played against his Sharks colleagues as they edged the Warriors 23-22 in Scotland and will be a fixture for the Magners League club until September.

With international Chris Cusiter out for three to six months and Colin Gregor working his way back to fitness Glasgow are stretched in the scrum-half department.

Glasgow Head Coach Sean Lineen is understood to be seeking similar deals to cover other positions.
