Two European suspensions

There were two suspensions of players sent off in European rugby this past weekend - Alessio Galasso of Castres and Stefano Codo of Leonessa.

Galasso, a 30-year-old prop who has played for France, was sent off in the 67th by referee Roy Maybank of England for punching in the Pool 4 Heineken Cup match between Castres and Munster at Thomond Park on Saturday. The match commissioner, Ciaran Callan of Ireland, convened a disciplinary hearing which suspended Galasso for two weeks.

Stefano Codo, a 24-year-old hooker, was sent off in the match between Leonessa and Romania A at Campo Comunale di Rovato on Friday evening. In the 76th minute of the match, the referee, Romain Poite of France, gave him a second yellow card which meant a red card. The match commissioner, Vittorio Barzan of Italy, convened a disciplinary hearing which suspended Codo for a week.
