USRFF Auction Green Welsh Jersey
Thursday July 14 2005
Raise money for grant programs
Paul Moriartys Welsh #8 jersey is next in the line of international jerseys that the United States Rugby Football Foundation is auctioning off to support its youth and high school grant programs. A picture of the jersey, along with a description and account of the test match between the United States and Wales from November 7, 1987 can be found on eBay, item #5218886470. The bidding will conclude at 10:00 am (PST) on Saturday, July 23, 2005. Not only was Paul Moriarty a wonderful player for Wales in both union and league, I believe this jersey will bring extra value as that match was one of just a handful that the Welsh wore green in, said USRFF Executive Director Brian Vizard, who is donating 10 jerseys hes collected throughout his international career with the U.S. to be used as auction items. The jersey is in great shape and Im hoping therell be a bidding war for it to help us in our efforts to support the game here.
