Matt Williams keeps faith with XV
Thursday February 10 2005
Ireland to face unchanged Scotland side
Scotland coach Matt Williams has kept faith with the XV which narrowly lost in France for the RBS Six Nations Championship clash with Ireland at Murrayfield on Saturday. The Scots upset the form books and all predictions by restricting the 2004 Grand Slam winners to a tense 16-9 victory in Paris last week, and Williams insisted that his whole team deserved the opportunity to prove themselves again. Winger Simon Danielli and forward Jason White had been injury doubts, but they have recovered and passed fit to face the Irish at Murrayfield. "We want as much cohesion with that group as possible and I thought they did pretty well and that's why I'm going in with the same 22," he said. "This is justified reward for the positive effort from all who were involved in Paris. "We need as much cohesion with that group as possible against the tournament favourites." Scotland: 15 Chris Paterson (Edinburgh Rugby), 14 Simon Danielli (The Borders), 13 Andy Craig (Glasgow Rugby), 12 Hugo Southwell (Edinburgh Rugby), 11 Sean Lamont (Glasgow Rugby), 10 Dan Parks (Glasgow Rugby), 9 Chris Cusiter (The Borders), 8 Allister Hogg (Edinburgh Rugby), 7 Jon Petrie (Glasgow Rugby), 6 Jason White (Sale Sharks), 5 Scott Murray (Edinburgh Rugby), 4 Stuart Grimes (Newcastle Falcons), 3 Gavin Kerr (Leeds Tykes), 2 Gordon Bulloch (Glasgow Rugby, captain), 1 Tom Smith (Northampton Saints). Date: Saturday, February 12 Gullivers Sports Travel offers the best value supporters' tours to Six Nations matches, the Dubai Sevens, Rugby World Cup Sevens and, the summit of rugby, the British & Irish Lions' Tour to New Zealand.
